The European Union’s Mission on Climate Adaptation has recently unveiled its new Mission Portal. This comprehensive online platform offers valuable information about the mission, including climate data, the latest progress updates, and news relevant to regional and local authorities participating as Charter Signatories, as well as research projects. The Community of Practice serves as a collaborative space where Charter Signatories, Mission projects, the European Commission (EC), and other participating authorities can engage in knowledge exchange and joint implementation efforts.
Moreover, several open calls have been announced within the Mission on Climate Adaptation, with a submission deadline set for September 30, 2023:
- HORIZON-MISS-2023-CLIMA-01-01: This call seeks proposals for testing and showcasing innovative solutions that enhance the climate resilience of the agriculture and/or forestry sectors.
- HORIZON-MISS-2023-CLIMA-01-02: This call invites proposals that test and demonstrate groundbreaking solutions aimed at safeguarding critical infrastructure from climate change impacts, with an emphasis on integrating nature-based approaches.
- HORIZON-MISS-2023-CLIMA-01-03: This call requests proposals for testing and demonstrating transformative solutions designed to bolster resilience against health risks stemming from climate change effects.
- HORIZON-MISS-2023-CLIMA-OCEAN-SOIL-01-01: This call encourages proposals that demonstrate, at a regional level, an integrated strategy for enhancing landscape water retention capacity.
These open calls provide a valuable opportunity for innovative projects to contribute to the EU’s climate adaptation efforts and help build a more resilient future.
