Description

European Horizon 2020 project under the SME Instrument Phase 1 and Phase 2, with a total grant value of €1.7 million and a two-year implementation period.

The project aims to address the issue of online visibility for millions of microenterprises in Europe, which struggle due to the lack of websites (over 40%) and search results heavily influenced by sponsored content. This dedicated search ecosystem for European microenterprises offers global and transparent visibility, connecting businesses with consumers (B2C) and other companies (B2B) without intermediaries. It leverages a crowdsourced search model and semantic technologies, combining open and private data. The project, with pilot implementations in Spain, Portugal, and Germany, seeks to revolutionize the online presence of SMEs and scale up to the European market with support from private investment.

Role of MATICAL: Project design and writing (Phase 1 and 2), support in project management during implementation, and preparation of interim and final reporting.
