EKONOKE is a cutting-edge agri-tech project funded by the Region of Madrid (EIC Accelerator Seal Of Excellence), aimed at transforming the traditional hop industry through indoor, climate-resilient cultivation. Hops, a key ingredient in beer production, are highly vulnerable to climate change and regional shortages. EKONOKE offers a soil-less, pesticide-free vertical farming solution that allows hops to be grown year-round, anywhere in the world, with 95% less water and no reliance on arable land. The solution combines precision agriculture, data-driven crop optimization, and scalable modular farms, making it attractive to major breweries seeking to secure supply chains and reduce environmental impact. EKONOKE’s controlled-environment approach enables the production of aroma and dual-purpose hops with superior quality and consistency, positioning it as a game-changer for the brewing industry.
